English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Italian as a Second or Foreign Language
Centro Linguistico Agorà adapts willingly to student and client objectives, scheduling and venue. The teachers, who are native-speakers of the target language, use periodicals, literature and specialized texts published in the target language in support of their teaching activities, as well as audiovisual materials and PCs.
We have found the following elements to be fundamental for studying a foreign language:
- Lessons in small groups or privately
- Teachers who are native-speakers of the target language
- Course syllabus with precise objectives
- Great consideration being given to individual needs, professional qualification and training
- A broad range of courses from elementary to specialized and technical language courses
- Flexibility
With the above in mind, we offer supplementary culture and hobby programs, In Touch with Italy, specifically for participants in our courses of Italiana as a second or foreign language.
Testing and Certification
Prospective participants are organized into homogenous groups according to the results of a placement test administered gratis by CLA teachers.
Centro Linguistico Agorà is a testing center for assessing fluency in English for the Trinity College of London, a certifying body recognized by the Italian Ministry for Public Instruction. Students have also prepared for the TOEFL exam with us and have enjoyed great success.
Students of the other languages taught at CLA are also prepared for the respective recognized exams: Zertifikat Deutsch als Fremdsprache, Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung (ZDF, ZM); Diplôme d'Etudes de Langue Française, Diplome Approfondi de Langue Française (DELF, DALF), Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE), Certificazione di Italiano come lingua straniera (CILS).
The teaching staff at Centro Linguistico Agorà have been preparing military personnel for the All-Forces Unified Test, a test written to NATO STANAG 6001 Amplified standards used by the Carabinieri Language School at Rome to qualify its personnel in various languages, with excellent results for several years.
